I am very honoured to have won an Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography at the 46th News and Documentary Emmy awards.
The award was for my work on Secret World of Sound with David Attenborough and is my second Emmy win.
It’s really a huge honor to take home an Emmy statuette, especially when we were up against some really tough competition. The nominees were:
- Earthsounds – Apple TV
- King Coal – PBS
- Lions of the Skeleton Coast – PBS
- Mammals – BBC
- Our Living World – Netflix
- Secret World of Sound with David Attenborough – Netflix

My work on the series involved returning to one of my favourite subjects, the saddleback anemone fish in Mabul, Sabah, Malaysia. I filmed these cute and ingenious fish communicating with each other as they teamed up to push a coconut shell back to their home in order to lay eggs.
Thank you to everyone at Humblebee films, to the field crew (Jason Isley, Jaap Baarendecht and Nalini Crack) and to the team at ScubaJunkie Mabul who helped us capture this wonderful behaviour.
Here is the full list of Cinematographers, congratulations everyone!
